Lent 2016 Week II Fasting is Awesome (kind of like hockey & cars)!

Stephen Colbert talked about a celebrity’s recent financial problems and strange business plan. (Colbert likened the billion dollar appeal to an 8 year-old’s excitement over cars: the problem being things are awesome until they aren’t anymore, and that is precisely when adult disciples of Christ have to determine what is important in our lives, and hence what we should fast from.) The story from Week 1 in the Sharelent mini-magazine highlighted the efforts of Adonis Medjine and her associates in Famn Deside in Haiti: I find it remarkable that someone there on the front lines is talking about raising their purchasing power! More power to them!
