Here’s the Catechism text on prayer (scroll down to #2849) that I found so compelling. Remember, we know who we are – we are most ourselves – when we are in deep communion with God, at prayer. Christ our Lord knew who he was, and thus was able to deal with every temptation of the Devil. Development + Peace’s Sharelent campaign draws heavily from Pope Francis’ document The Joy of the Gospel, and calls for people to become “artisans of their [own] destiny”. I cannot imagine a better example than the work for democracy that Bishop Mutega from the Democratic Republic of the Congo describes in the Sharelent video.
